White Castle celebrates 100 years with virtual trip down memory lane

White Castle debuts augmented reality cups to celebrate 100th anniversary

White Castle debuted augmented reality cups designed by Columbus, Ohio-based artist Bryan Moss to commemorate its 100th anniversary. The fast-food chain that invented the slider and has many locations scattered across Northwest Indiana partnered with Coca-Cola and tapped Moss to design the commemorative cups that mark a century of White Castle and its tiny square burgers. A Greektown-like Greek restaurant, grocery store and bakery is taking over the high-profile Abuelo s spot at U.S. 30 and Interstate 65 in Merrillville. The new Athenian Greek Cuisine is going big. Joseph S. Pete “We strive to support our local communities in all respects, and this project was no exception,” said Erin Shannon, corporate relations manager at White Castle. “Bryan ‘got us’ from the very beginning, and I believe his shared passion for White Castle came through.”

White Castle® and Coca-Cola Enlist Columbus Artist Bryan Moss to Bring to Life 100th Birthday and Century-Long Partnership

White Castle, in collaboration with Coca-Cola, has introduced a set of three collectible augmented reality soft drink cups to commemorate its 100th birthday and 100-year partnership with Coca-Cola. Designed by Columbus, Ohio, artist Bryan Moss, the cups come alive with sound and motion when viewed through a smartphone. It all started in the summer of 2020, with Coca-Cola eager to celebrate their partner of nearly 100 years with a truly unique and groundbreaking activation. As big as the outcome promised to be, the two brands at the outset knew they wanted to start locally. A short-list of Columbus-based visual artists quickly led to the selection of Moss, known for his lively and relatable graphic aesthetic.
