LAKE BISTINEAU, La. - The Bossier Parish Sheriff s Office early Wednesday morning recovered the body of a teenager who disappeared Tuesday afternoon in an apparent boating accident.

Bossier deputies and other first responders spent several hours trying to find a teenage boy who went missing when his boat went under near the Lake Bistineau spillway on Tuesday afternoon.
A call came in to the 911 center in Bossier Parish at about 4 p.m. Tuesday for a report about two teenage boys who were involved in a boating accident near the dam at the Lake Bistineau bridge on Highway 154. The boys had been fishing when their boat capsized. One of the teens made it safely out of the water, while the other one did not.
Mangum and another teenaged boy were reportedly boating around 4 p.m. Tuesday when strong water currents on Lake Bistineau caused their boat to capsize.

A severe thunderstorm is moving into the area right now. It is 8 miles south of Bossier City, moving northeast at 30 mph. We could see wind gusts of up to 60 mph. This storm might also include quarter size hail.
There could be hail damage to cars. There is also a chance we could see some damage to roofs from the wind.
Communities included in this warning are Shreveport, Bossier City, Minden, Haughton, Ringgold, Sibley, Doyline, Dubberly, Dixie Inn, Heflin, Eastwood, Jamestown, Curtis, Fillmore, Bodcau, Plum Orchard Landing, Koran, Gilark, Noles Landing and Lake Bistineau North.
