Lake Arthur High School holds graduation ceremony

Lake Arthur High School celebrated its 2021 graduating class during commencement ceremonies held Friday evening.
Graduates took the stage to receive their diplomas and celebrate their accomplishments after a difficult year marked by the coronavirus pandemic and hurricanes.
We caught up with the class valedictorians, who say they re thankful for everyone who helped them through the school year. With all our academic achievements, we ve accomplished so much and gotten so far in life, and I really do with the best for all of y all in the future, said Keagan Simon.

LAKE ARTHUR - A man wearing a Santa hat was accused of stealing a school bus Thursday.
Police arrested 34-year-old Cody Wade Moore after they obtained surveillance camera footage of the scene at Lake Arthur High School.
The footage showed a man wearing a red shirt, khaki pants and a Santa hat. Authorities said Moore was found in Opelousas with the bus, still wearing the same clothing.

It may only be May, but one man in Louisiana is getting into the Christmas mood by donning a hat fit for Santa Claus himself. What s not part of the Christmas spirit, however, is he allegedly stole a school bus last week.

Cody Moore, of Jennings, is thought to be the culprit behind a bus stolen from Lake Arthur High School on Tuesday, April 27. The bus was located later that day in Opelousas, over an hour away.

On April 27, Lake Arthur High School reported the theft of a school bus to the Jefferson Davis Sheriff s Office. The suspect was recorded on video surveillance wearing a blue jacket, Nike shoes, Beats headphones, Air pods, red shirt, khaki pants, and wearing a Santa hat. I personally thought the over abundance of ear entertainment was strange, but then he threw in the Santa hat as a fashion statement.
