The folks at Discotek Media plumbed the past back in spring 2020 to find a truly nuts kind of show to introduce fans to with the 1972 series
Astroganger. With the home video release having come and gone, the show recently found itself a home for streaming for the first time with RetroCrush where it’s available in full here. Now, RetroCrush has added their first clip from it and have given us a good look at four minutes of various big action mecha scene from the show to check out, reminding us of what early 70s giant robot anime was like!

Now, RetroCrush has dug into the classic music side by streaming the opening sequence which features the song “Astroganger” by Ichirou Mizuki and Columbia Yurikago Kai as well as the ending sequence with “Susume! Astroganger” by Columbia Yurikago Kai.

Kane’s grandson Eiji Tanaka expressed, It’s great she [Kane Tanaka] reached that age and she can still keep up an active lifestyle we want other people to see that and feel inspired, and not to think age is a barrier.
