The home-from-home, communal dining vibe can be recreated in your own home with this whopper of a ‘Big Box’ designed to see a family through both Christmas and Boxing Day (and quite possibly well into the new year). A whole Aylesbury duck, hung for 10 days and ready for the oven, forms the centrepiece of a two-day feast that also includes duck, pork and prune pie (made with plums steeped in Somerset cider brandy from the farm’s orchard) as well as bacon, sausages and brown sauce for breakfast.
