Masks are welcome but not required, Collins said.
Menu-wise, AJ’s will offer drink specials, food specials and specialty Super Bowl burgers.
“We have a lot of Bud(weiser) girls passing out swag,” Collins said. “It’s a very fun, tailgate environment to watch the game. Every year, we give away a big screen TV during the game at some point. You do have to be present to win that, and you can register before the game starts at the Destin location.”
AJ’s shows football games every weekend. The crowd has tapered off some, Collins said.
“It’s been a moderate crowd, solid,” he said. “For the Super Bowl, we expect much of the same; a decent turnout but we don’t expect it to be over the top.”
The incident occurred about 2:45 p.m. Sunday at 191 E. John Sims Parkway.
The two men got into a physical altercation in the restaurant s parking lot, according to the Facebook post. One of the men pulled out a firearm, and the other man grabbed the barrel of the gun and attempted to pull it away.
The weapon went off during the struggle, wounding both individuals, the post said.
Both men were transported to the Fort Walton Beach Medical Center for medical treatment.
The Niceville Police Department has identified the men but has not publicly released their names or the extent of their injuries.
The Tierney Family Secret Santa Fund continues to spread the faith, love and generous Christmas cheer of the late Niceville couple, Mike and Cynthia Tierney.
Mike was a doctor at Eglin Air Force Base Hospital and Cynthia was his nurse, said family friend Dr. Rich Hughes, who worked with them at Eglin and now is an ER doctor at Twin Cities Hospital in Niceville.
Mike died in November 2013 at age 59 after battling colon cancer, and Cynthia passed away at age 52 in October 2014.
The Tierneys did not have children, Hughes said Thursday. For several years before Mike died, the couple dressed up as Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus and went to local Walmart stores and the old Kmart in Fort Walton Beach, where they anonymously paid people’s layaways down to 1 cent apiece, Hughes said.
