A preliminary investigation to this point has led the AG s office to learn that a uniformed Atlantic City Police Officer was on their way to a call for service with no lights or sirens activated heading northbound on Arkansas Avenue on June 18 around 8:30 pm crossing near Arctic Avenue.
Everett Stern, 63, of Atlantic City was heading east on Arctic Avenue at that time and his bicycle then hit the driver side of the police vehicle.
The officer called for help from emergency medical personnel and began providing on scene aid to Stern who had suffered critical injuries.
