Parnell, a former Army Ranger captain who was wounded in Afghanistan in 2006, joins a Republican field of declared candidates that includes another veteran, Kathy Barnette, along with Jeff Bartos, Sean Gale, and Everett Stern. Others who have expressed interest include two sitting congressmen, Mike Kelly and Guy Reschenthaler, who is also a veteran.
