Driver taken to hospital after crash in Hurontown | News, Sports, Jobs

Feb 2, 2021 Graham Jaehnig/Daily Mining Gazette A pickup truck hit the facade of Erickson Feed, Seed & Pet Supply in Hurontown around noon on Friday. Troopers from the Michigan State Police Calumet Post were dispatched around noon Friday to Erickson Feed, Seed & Pet Supply in Hurontown in response to a pickup truck that smashed into one of the store’s buildings, injuring the driver. The building and the truck received heavy damage in the crash. The driver was transported by Mercy EMS to UP Health System-Portage hospital, but his condition is currently not known. On Friday afternoon, Sergeant Russell Larson of the State Police Calumet Post said that no other information was available at that time, because the crash is under investigation and preliminary information was still being gathered. Erickson Feed & Seed donated 12 Tuff Mate mittens. Becky Spelich donated 18 pair of homemade mittens. Holiday of Hancock donated four pairs of girls’ gloves. We also received many, many anonymous donations of winter gear.
