BMW Motorsport has revealed the stunning new BMW M4 GT3 customer race car based on the 2021 M4 Competition Coupe.
As staggering as its looks is its output of 440kW, making it the most powerful straight-six engine BMW has installed in a racing car since the days of the BMW M1 Group 5, according to Ulrich Schulz, Head of Drivetrain Design, BMW Motorsport.
Explaining the astonishing styling, Michael Scully, BMW Group Designworks Global Automotive Director, explains that: “The kidney grille retains the production car’s size and geometry, while its interior surfaces have been opened up to feed the race engine’s enhanced cooling requirements.”

NEW DELHI: BMW has globally taken the wraps off the 2021 M4 Competition Convertible with M xDrive. The launch is scheduled immediately after the start of production in July.
The dynamically stretched silhouette gets a soft-top concept. Panel bow soft top combines the practical benefits of a retractable hardtop with the elegant aesthetic of a fabric hood. Softtop is 40 per cent lighter than the predecessor’s roof, boot capacity is 80 litres larger. The soft top can be opened or closed in 18 seconds, even when moving, thanks to its electric drive mechanism.
BMW’s six-cylinder in-line engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology used in M4 Competition has a high-revving character and maximum output increased by 60 hp over the predecessor model. Two turbochargers optimised direct injection technology, components developed on the back of racing expertise. The M performance characteristics and peak torque of 650 Nm.

The all-new and somewhat controversial (cue those vertical kidney grilles) 2021 BMW M3 Competition Sedan and M4 Coupé Competition models are alive and kicking in SA.
Powered by the Munich firm s S58 straight-six turbocharged petrol engine, both variants take to the asphalt with no less than 375kW and 650Nm worth of torque – figures that promise some storming straight-line performance.
BMW claims both will rocket from 0-100km/h in a scant 3.9 seconds. Top speed is capped at 250km/h, but when fitted with the optional M Driver’s Package this is raised to a license-revoking 290km/h.
