Purdue University Fort Wayne, Edison State enter transfer agreement Staff report FORT WAYNE, Ind. Purdue University Fort Wayne and Edison State Community College in Piqua, Ohio, signed a transfer articulation agreement allowing students from Edison State to transfer credits earned from an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree into a PFW Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree. The BAS degree can be completed entirely online. Once Edison State students meet PFW admission requirements, they can smoothly transfer 88 credit hours of their AAS degree. Students are required to complete 32 credit hours at PFW. A total of 120 credit hours is required to complete the BAS degree. The BAS degree can be completed totally online, making PFW more accessible to students outside of their region.

High school-college dual enrollment up during pandemic Bonnie Meibers Area colleges have seen enrollment increase in their College Credit Plus programs since the pandemic started. College Credit Plus is Ohio’s dual enrollment program that gives students in grades seven through 12 the opportunity to earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking courses from Ohio colleges or universities. Sinclair Community College has seen its highest enrollment in the program ever in 2021. “We’ve seen continual growth,” said Liz Cicchetti, director of the CCP program at Sinclair. Sinclair has also seen an increase in the “full time equivalency,” suggesting that students overall are taking more classes.

Filed in HBCUs on January 1, 2021 Historically Black Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio, has entered into an agreement with Hocking College in Nelsonville, Ohio, Edison State Community College in Piqua, Ohio, and Stark State College in North Canton, Ohio. The agreement will further advance the mission of Central State University Extension to implement extension outreach and research-based programs in each college’s community. A key component of the agreement allows Central State Extension to house regional coordinators at each campus. Regional coordinators will work with each college president as well as key community stakeholders to design and implement programs based on community needs as well as current research.
