The Northeast-10 Conference council of presidents voted virtually Monday afternoon to resume spring sports competition, according to a release from the conference.
The conference intends to sponsor regular season and postseason play in lacrosse, among other sports. Competition is expected to begin in mid-March.
This is great news for teams appearing in the Nike / US Lacrosse Division I Preseason Top 20s. Le Moyne (No. 2) and Adelphi (No. 7) represent the men in the top 10, while Le Moyne (No. 3) and Adelphi (No. 4) are in the top 10 of the women s ranking.

The Ivy League status still remains uncertain, even as some non-Ivy teams have already played multiple games in 2021. Another potential domino could be about to fall, however.
In a letter sent to Cornell supporters by Big Red head coach Connor Buczek, it was revealed that a group of players will take a leave absence from the school for the spring to preserve an extra semester of eligibility to play next season. Buczek stressed, though, that there is still no definitive answer regarding the status of the season.
Buczek confirmed news of the letter to US Lacrosse Magazine. No specific players were said to have taken the leave, though All-American attackman Jeff Teat is no longer listed on the Cornell roster.
Attack
Mac Bredahl missed 11 games his freshman season and played just four games last year, but he has immense potential with Tufts.
Cross Ferrara was a force in seven games last season, scoring 26 goals with six assists.
Ronan Jacoby scored 10 goals in Wesleyan s 3-1 start to 2020.
Midfield
Ryan Barnable shot 32 percent on his way to eight goals and seven assists.
Ty Kostack filled the box score for Cabrini, notching 18 points, 10 assists, eight ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Matt Treiber only played three games in 2020, but he scored seven goals for the Jumbos.
Specialists
Brett Malamphy stepped his game up in 2020, winning 96 of 125 faceoffs (76.8 percent).
Attack
Eric Dickinson had 38 points in seven games last season and is Lenoir-Rhyne s all-time leader in points (225) and goals (156).
Last season,
Sam Lindahl ranked second in goals per game in Division II, finishing with 24 goals (31 points).
A graduate student,
Midfield
John Arcidiacono is an offensive force while also patrolling the midfield and is a key graduate student for Adelphi.
Jake Mosher McGraw contributed 18 goals for a Tampa team that was a fast riser in the Nike/US Lacrosse Magazine Division II Top 20 last season.
Bryan Wright started all eight games in 2020, scoring 21 goals with 10 assists while also contributed 27 ground balls.

US Lacrosse Magazine announced Wednesday its 2021 Division III Men’s Preseason Positional Players of the Year, part of the magazine’s immersive coverage leading to the upcoming spring season.
Five players an attackman, midfielder, defenseman, specialist and goalie earned this distinction thanks to their performances during the 2020 season and our expectations for 2021.
Next Wednesday (Dec. 30), US Lacrosse Magazine will reveal its overall Division III Men’s Preseason Player of the Year.
