Last year, Donor Club of Elgin members personally donated a total of $10,000 to local charities when the annual book review and luncheon had to be canceled due to COVID-19.

Hanover Township Mental Health Board awards funding at April meeting   Updated 4/30/2021 5:04 PM The Hanover Township Mental Health Board approved $18,900 in funding during their meeting on April 27. Ecker Center for Behavioral Health was awarded $12,500 in challenge funding to assist in the creation of their new crisis stabilization unit that will launch later this year. The unit is intended to assist residents in need of mental health services that do not rise to the level of hospitalization.   The board also awarded $6,400 in challenge funding to Partners for Our Communities to provide additional case management at the township s Astor Avenue Community Center in Hanover Park. Based in Palatine, the agency provides case management services for immigrants seeking legal, medical and mental health services, and more.

Hanover Township Mental Health Board awards funding at February meeting   Updated 2/25/2021 8:33 AM The Hanover Township Mental Health Board approved $24,145 in funding during its meeting on Feb. 23. Catholic Charities was awarded $7,500 in capital funding to purchase Thermoscans and docking stations to conduct temperature screenings at their offices.   Community Alternatives United (CAU) was awarded $12,000 in capital funds to purchase laptops to provide virtual services. CAU works with township residents with developmental or cognitive disabilities. The Northwest Center Against Sexual Assault (NWCASA) received $1,970 in contract support funds for technological upgrades to allow for staff to work remotely. NWCASA supports residents who are victims of sexual assault.
