Singhu: In order to deal with the scorching summer heat, on the 106th day of their agitation, farmers have started building pucca houses (permanent structures made of bricks) at the Singhu border.
These houses can be easily seen when one moves a few kilometres ahead of the protest site at Singhu border.
Now houses are being constructed at places where the farmers had earlier pitched tents. For building pucca houses with bricks, masons have been called all the way from Punjab.

New Delhi: A day after Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait broke down at Ghazipur, thousands of farmers participated in a mahapanchayat held in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar and extended support to the ongoing farmers’ protests at Delhi borders. While announcing to throw full weight behind Tikait-led protest at Ghazipur, the farmers of the western UP were seen heading in small groups towards the protest site. Kisans from Meerut, Baghpat, Bijnor, Muzaffarnagar, Moradabad and Bulandshahr reached the UP Gate today to join the stir.
Meanwhile, farmers protesting at the Singhu border announced to observe Sadbhavna Diwas on Mahatma Gandhi s death anniversary on January 30 and hold a day-long fast. The Kisan union leaders said the agitation is set to gain strength as a large number of farmers from Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and other states are moving towards the national capital to join the protest against
New Delhi: The tractor rally by farmers agitating against the three farm laws passed by the Centre turned violent on Republic Day after some farmers deviated from the designated route (approved in consultation with the Delhi Police on Sunday) and indulged in violent activities – breaking through barricades and clashing with the police personnel.
Some protesters entered the Red Fort premises and hoisted the Sikh Nishaan Sahib flag underneath the Tricolour. The protesters were later removed from the Red Fort premises, although some of them camped in the area.
The Ministry of Home Affairs suspended internet and telecom services in several parts of Delhi following which Home Minister Amit Shah took stock of the situation.

Farmer unions to hold meet at Singhu border day after govt s offer to pause farm laws
Farmer unions will hold meeting on Thursday at Singhu border in Delhi to discuss the Centre s latest offer on the farm laws. During the 10th round of talks at Vigyan Bhawan on Wednesday, the Centre made an offer to keep the new farm laws on hold for 18 months and resolve the issues related to the laws through a committee.
Farmer leaders have termed the proposal worth considering and decided that representatives of all the farmer organisations will hold consultations and then apprise the government about their stand. The next meeting has been scheduled for January 2.

New Delhi: The ninth round of talks between farmers and the central government remained conclusive on Friday. Three central ministers, including Narendra Singh Tomar, Railways, Commerce and Food Minister Piyush Goyal and Minister of State for Commerce Som Parkash and farmers unions on Friday committed held talks at Vigyan Bhawan to resolve the over-one-month-long deadlock over three agri laws.
