Women from various Florida regions united to learn fishing skills at the “Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing!” Gulf Coast University, held on May 15-16 at the Bass Pro Shops in Fort Myers.
The university offered education, fishing skill practice and an optional fishing trip.
On Saturday were classroom presentations, followed by skill practice for knot tying, spin casting, live shrimp usage, fly casting and net casting. On Sunday, participants embarked on their chosen fishing adventures from boats. They caught or released snook, redfish, black drum, snapper and sea trout for a total of 100 fish from three boats.
