Dorset community buildings to receive gigabit broadband

DOZENS of community buildings across rural north Dorset are to receive gigabit broadband giving residents and businesses better access to a new internet network. Sixty community sites from Blandford to Sherborne - including schools, community centres, a health centre, council depots, farms and adult social care residential homes - will be connected to gigabit broadband by March 2022. The buildings will be connected to gigabit-capable broadband thanks to the Getting Building Fund allocation from Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP). It is hoped that by building the network to these sites, it will bring many thousands of homes and businesses within reach of the new Wessex Internet network. Residents and businesses in these areas will be eligible for further subsidy through gigabit vouchers to offset the costs of installing full-fibre.

Study maps offshore wind-to-hydrogen potential in Norfolk - reNews

A research study has begun to explore the potential for green hydrogen production off the coast of East Anglia, in the UK. The study, led by Hydrogen East, will research options and scenarios to bring together the region’s offshore gas and offshore wind sectors to produce clean hydrogen at scale for cleaner power, heat and transport fuels supplying the region and beyond. The ‘Bacton Energy Hub: Exploring the potential for hydrogen from the Southern North Sea’ study will map existing offshore and onshore energy-related infrastructure and develop options and scenarios for where wind farms, gas platforms, subsea pipelines and cables could be integrated or repurposed over time to support hydrogen production.
