His comments followed a report tabled by council regulatory and compliance manager Paul Cooper which estimated the disruption to services would last up to two months. He said there was no problem with the roof of the building as the building “back flooded in through the back doors”. “We have to go and get carpeting and furniture, I have no idea of cost at this point,” Rowley said. “They have all the skirting boards off as they have minimised the damage. “We have to work with the insurance company.”

+ January 27, 2021 SAN Simon Vice Mayor Leonora Wong is facing another administrative charge for alleged irregularity in the purchase of a lot during her mayoralty term.
Two individuals named Donabelle Parungao and Maria Elizabeth Dimaata filed cases for dishonesty, oppression, misconduct in office, gross negligence and dereliction of duty against Wong before the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) on November 20, 2020.
Parungao said they are seeking clarity over the alleged failure of Wong to secure all necessary documents prior to her purchase of land in Barangay Sto. Niño here back in 2015.
The day was dry on January 3 until about 2pm, at which point the storm system arrived over the township and surrounds. Pre-saturation from the previous day meant that the rain from the storm had the effect of giving the ground an increased run-off coefficient; the consequence of that being that overland flow happened far quicker than it otherwise might have done. The storm water systems and natural drainage coped for the first part of the storm, but was quickly overwhelmed in the last 30 minutes as rainfall intensified during that period, delivering in excess of 30mm of rain in that period alone.
