Your Weekend Planner March 5: Distressing week for denims?
Between the Saina poster controversy and the Taapsee-Anurag I-T raids, we ve completely overlooked the fact that this week has been particularly distressing for the humble jeans!

Dear Reader,
Bollywood has again taken over the news cycle, either ruffling the feathers of a shuttlecock or being raided by the Income Tax department for tax evasion. The former is, of course, a reference to Parineeti Chopra s Saina biopic poster. Story: Anu (Kalpika Ganesh), Gayathri (Gayatri Gupta), Uma (Uma Lingaiah), Mohini (Khatera Hakimi) and Sarah (Nesa Farhedi) are vulnerable women whom society has done wrong. Destiny makes them hit the road from different parts of the country and meet at one obvious place – Goa. How all the women discover the meaning of life through their journey forms the tale.
Review: Numerous films have released that romanticise nomadic life and
Sita on the Road falls into the same category. However, the way director Praneeth treats sensitive subjects and fleshes out this motley crew of women is something that needs further discussion.
The Sita On The Road trailer explores hidden locations of Goa and Karnataka, while also narrating the story of women that is as engaging as ever. It aims to portray the struggles that women face on a day-to-day basis and draws from the concept of Sita in Ramayana, who jumped into the fire to prove her chastity.
