Banda (Uttar Pradesh):Â About 40 km from Banda district in Bundelkhand, a region with a severe water crisis, 70-year-old Ram Snehi Chaudhary cultivates 20-22 bighas of land in Arsaunda village. The absence of a proper irrigation system in the drought-hit region ruins most of his crops each year. Last year, for instance, he managed to produce only about 10 quintals of optimum quality wheat.
