NEPTUNE - A township man has been charged with attempted murder following a shooting in the parking lot of a Walmart on Route 66 that left one man injured on Wednesday, authorities said.
Mark Ruffin Jr., 22, was also charged with second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said in a news release.
The shooting happened about 1:09 p.m. in the Walmart parking lot, according to the news release.
Neptune police responded and found one man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
