View Comments JACKSON - A 28-year-old Ewing Township man has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault following a road-rage incident, which later led police on a chase that included two motor vehicle accidents, authorities said. Michael S. Mahan was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, terroristic threats, eluding, six counts of aggravated assault causing bodily injury during a pursuit, driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit a breath test and other motor vehicle offenses, according to Capt. Steven Laskiewicz. The incident happened at approximately 4:50 p.m. Saturday, when township police were called for a report of a stabbing incident on Maria Street, police said. Upon arrival, police found a woman suffering from a large slash across her face and bleeding heavily.

Gramiccioni. Mark Ruffin Jr., 22, was arrested and charged with one count of first-degree attempted murder, one count of second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and one count of second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, according to a Thursday press release from the Monmouth County Prosecutor s Office. On Wednesday, around 1 p.m, the Neptune Township Police Department responded to the Walmart on 3755 State Highway 66 for reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers discovered one male victim suffering from a gunshot wound, who was taken to a local hospital.

Mark Ruffin Jr., 22, was also charged with second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said in a news release. The shooting happened about 1:09 p.m. in the Walmart parking lot, according to the news release. Neptune police responded and found one man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
