New Delhi [India], April 20 (ANI): With the aim to implement the week-long lockdown >lockdown in the national capital effectively, Delhi Police Commissioner SN Shrivastava on Tuesday held a review meeting with Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs), Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) and Station House Officers (SHOs).
Shrivastava held a briefing via video conference and review the effectiveness of the lockdown >lockdown and the situation on the ground amid reports of fleeing by migrant workers and rush at railway stations and interstate bus terminals. The priority task is to implement this weeklong lockdown >lockdown and tightness in restrictions be kept, he said stating that if anyone is found in disobedience to the restrictions without a genuine ground or exemption, needs to be prosecuted at once.

‘It will prevent personnel from getting exposed to virus’
In order to prevent police station staff from COVID-19 infection, kiosks will come up outside 20 buildings housing law and order, traffic, cyber crime, economic and narcotic crime police stations and offices of Assistant Commissioners of Police. The grievances of people will be attended to at these kiosks, according to Police Commissioner N. Shashi Kumar.
The first such kiosk was opened at Urwa police station on Saturday.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Kumar said with surge in COVID-19 cases in the city, it was important to take precautions for police personnel. As many as 330 personnel tested positive last year and this led to shortfall in the workforce, he said.
DC visits mosques to check SOPs

Islamabad : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat Thursday directed to all the Assistant Commissioners to ensure full implementation of anti-coronavirus Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at mosques for public safety amid the third wave of the pandemic.
He, while visiting different mosques of the city, also called for ensuring foolproof security at the religious places to prevent any untoward incident.
The DC issued notice to the management of a mosque at sector F-7 for not adhering to the SOPs, whereas a prayer leader of a mosque located at sector G-11 was summoned to his office on the same grounds.
