GUWAHATI: More arrests have been made in connection with the minority students pre-matriculation scholarship scam.
According to the police, a team of CID with the help of local police personnel searched some locations under Boko Police Station and Alopati Char Police Station on Wednesday. The search operation yielded in the form of Sohidul Islam of Nagarbera and Rafiur Rahman of Chhaygaon who were involved in the pre-matriculation scam. The duo was arrested formally on Thursday.
Commotion prevailed in the House of the BJP-led South Delhi Municipal Corporation on Tuesday as members of the opposition AAP raised slogans and held placards alleging scam in education department of the SDMC that took place a few years ago . The protesting members later tripped to the Well of the House and demanded an inquiry into the allegations. South Delhi Mayor Anamika or any senior leader of the ruling BJP did not immediately react to the accusations, either in the House or outstide. Sometime between 2013-2016, scholarship meant for Dalit children were allegedly diverted to another account and siphoned off in places like Bihar and UttarPradesh, Leader of Opposition and AAP member Prem Chouhan alleged.

Contradiction in reports, says SSP after Dhanbad admn criticises police ‘excesses’
The Indian Express had reported on the findings of the report which was prepared after a group of factory owners had approached the district administration reporting the high handedness of the police.
