The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls basketball teams powered through North Cedar Friday night in River Valley Conference play. The Golden Hawk girls scored an impressive 64-8 win over the visiting Knights. The Hawks scored the first 20 in a row to start the game and led 26-1 after the first quarter. They would continue to grow the lead, enacting the continuous clock midway through the second quarter and holding a 42-8 lead at the half. The Mid-Prairie defense got even better in the second half, not allowing the Knights a single point, while posting 22 of their own. Head coach Danny Hershberger talked this weekend on the KCII Radio Coaches Corner about his team’s performance. “It was a great effort by our girls. The biggest thing was that we were communicating.
