MARSHALL, MI (WTVB) â Coldwaterâs hopes of getting at least a share of the Interstate 8 baseball title were dashed on Tuesday as they lost at Marshall 8-7 in eight innings in the conclusion of a April 19 game that was suspended because of darkness.
Play resumed in the top of the fifth with the scored tied 6-6. After Marshall took the lead in the last of the fifth, Coldwaterâs Nate Tappenden belted his second homer in a week to tie the game 7-7.
Coldwaterâs defense in the bottom half of the seventh forced the game into extra innings as two Marshall runners were thrown at the plate.
