Venue Online Dr André Brodkorb and Dr Linda Giblin and the INFOGEST research network are hosting a Virtual International Conference on Food Digestion on the 6th and 7th of May.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the physical International Conference on Food Digestion in Cork was postponed to May 2022 (https://www.icfd2022.com/). This virtual event is to give researchers, especially PhD students, an opportunity to present their results on an international stage.
The event will take place on 6 May, 12pm to 6pm (Dublin) and 7 May, 7.30am to 2pm (Dublin). The conference will cover six themes relating to food digestion:

The theme this month is “
in vitro Digestion Models” and will feature presentations from Dr Anabel Mulet-Cabero of the Quadram Institute and Prof. Gail Bornhorst of UC Davis.
Dr Anabel Mulet-Cabero is a former Walsh Scholar from the Food Chemistry and Technology Department at Teagasc Moorepark. She will present her work on the “
Semi-dynamic Infogest Digestion Model”. Prof. Gail Bornhorst is associate professor in the Departments of Food Science & Technology and Biological & Agricultural Engineering at UC Davis. She will present her work on “
Dynamic Digestion Models: Uses, Opportunities and Challenges”. The webinar will be moderated by Dr André Brodkorb of Teagasc, as well as Dr Lotti Egger and Dr Isidra Recio.

INFOGEST is an international network with the aim of Sharing Information on the Digestion of Food, now consisting of scientists from academia and industry from over 45 countries, with some financial support by the French Research Organisation INRAE. The INFOGEST Webinar Series on Food Digestion is held on the first Wednesday of every month at 2PM and will continue in the lead up to the next International Conference on Food Digestion 3-5 May 2022 in Cork, Ireland .
