UP wheat purchase godowns and centres to be geo-tagged

Lucknow, Jan 30: After above-par procurement of paddy, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to start wheat purchase from April 1.
Asking officials to ensure farmers welfare once again, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Friday instructed them that farmers should not face any kind of problem at the purchase centres and storage godowns.
Adequate arrangements should be made to protect wheat across the state, he said. The minimum support price of wheat has been fixed at Rs 1,975 per quintal, an increase of Rs 50 as compared to the previous year. In every case, farmers should get the benefit of MSP, he said.

What is the main aim of Rythu Bandhu?
The main aim of Rythu Bandhu is to provide financial aid for the purchase of seeds, fertilisers, pesticides, labour and other investments in the field. Under Rythu Bandu, every farmer in Telangana is likely to receive Rs. 5000 per acre of land as investment for two seasons Rabi (Yasangi) and Kharif (Rainy) season. The amount will be directly credited into the farmer s bank account. The farmers can withdraw the money through micro ATMs in the state.

A revenue court here has ordered authorities to seal 422 hectares of land in three districts belonging to Mohammad Amir Mohammad Khan, the erstwhile Raja of Mahmudabad.
Additional District Magistrate (administration) Amarpal Singh said he issued the order on Saturday in the land dispute case that had been going on in the court since 2007. The land now belongs to the state government.
“The three districts where the land is spread out are Sitapur, Barabanki and Lakhimpur Kheri, and is worth approximately Rs 420 crore,” Singh said on Sunday. According to the court order, the land in Sitapur measures 388.301 hectares and is spread across 179 villages. In 31 villages of Lakhimpur Kheri, there are 10.659 hectares of land, while in 21 villages of Barabanki there are 23.045 hectares.
