A Brockton man who was arrested on Monday, July 19, in the fatal stabbing of another city man was arraigned in district court the following day and held without bail on one count of murder.
Keith Disharoom, 40, was involved in an altercation on North Main Street at 7:38 p.m. Sunday with Eric Cohen, 44, formerly of Holbrook.
Assistant District Attorney Josh Gedraitis said the two men were familiar with each other.
Prosecutors say Cohen was walking his service dog when Disharoom pulled up beside him in his truck and they began to exchange words, at which point the altercation became physical, with Cohen believed to have initially punched Disharoom in the face.

A Barnstable County Grand Jury returned an indictment on June 18, charging Andrew Baily with first-degree murder and assault and battery on a person 60 or over in connection with the December 2020 killing of Cheryl Crowell.
Baily, wearing a brown T-shirt and dark blue pants, told Judge Mark Gildea on Thursday that he was not guilty on both charges.
Cape and Islands Assistant District Attorney Michael Patterson asked that Baily be held without bail, to which Baily’s attorney Drew Segadelli agreed. I reserved my rights to make a bail argument, Segadelli said after the hearing Thursday. I received a lot of discovery today, including criminologist reports and expert opinions. I ll be deciphering all of that.

The state trial court took a walk-through of the Hyannis resort on Monday to assess its suitability as a potential location for jury trials to resume in a safe way during the pandemic.
“In addition to the six-person jury trials that will be conducted at Barnstable Superior Court, the trial court is looking at potential off-site locations for jury business in Barnstable County,” court spokeswoman Jennifer Donahue wrote in an email. Nothing has been finalized at this time.
These sites could be used for jury business during the pandemic, either as a jury pool assembly location or potentially to conduct entire jury trials, from impanelment to verdict, Donahue said.
