Henry Ford didn’t invent the production line, as is often believed. Manufacturers had been using similar assembly methods for decades. Ford merely adapted and refined the techniques to reduce costs and produce a motor car cheap enough for Mr Average, rather than Mr and Mrs Rich, who were the only likely internally combusted customer in the late Victorian era.
Lac qui Parle Valley Schools choose new superintendent
The Lac qui Parle Valley School Board has voted to hire a high school principal from Roseau Public Schools as its next superintendent.

At a Monday meeting, the board voted to hire Ivan Hirst, currently the high school principal and athletic director at Roseau Public Schools.
The board will be negotiating a contract with Hirst, according to a news release. The contract could be approved at the April 26 regular board meeting.
Hirst is expected to start working in the district July 1. He will succeed Superintendent Greg Schmidt.
