STREATOR – A Streator man is facing child pornography charges after an investigation by multiple agencies. On Wednesday the Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation arrested 41-year-old Ryan P. Cook for two counts of Dissemination of Child Pornography, both Class X Felonies.
ISP Investigators, along with Peoria County Sheriff’s Department, US Secret Service, and the Illinois Attorney General’s High-Tech Crimes Bureau, executed a search warrant at Cook’s residence in the 400 block of West Grant Street, and allegedly located and observed child pornography being shared on multiple electronic devices leading to the arrest.

On Tuesday, May 18, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation – Zone 7 was requested by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department to investigate a shooting which had occurred in the 700 block of Pearl Street in Mound City.
Earlier in the evening, a Pulaski County deputy was conducting an investigation at the scene of a fire at a residence on Pearl Street.
A brief physical altercation occurred involving the deputy several individuals attempting to obstruct the investigation. The deputy eventually detained a female, placing her in the back seat of his squad car.
While the Deputy was taking a second individual into custody, an unknown suspect shot in the direction of the deputy. The female detained in the back seat of the squad car was struck by gunfire. UTICA, Ill. Three people died after an unknown explosion was reported north of Starved Rock State Park. According to the Illinois State Police Department, the explosion happened around 7 p.m. Thursday, May 6 at the Illinois Route 178 Bridge over the Illinois River.
According to the Associated Press, the three people who died were male. LaSalle County Coroner Rich Ploch says the three died from injuries they received in the explosion, which had ignited from a black powder substance.
Black powder was the original gunpowder and can be used to make fireworks.
