The path has been set for
Nevada to fully reopen at 100 percent capacity by June 1. According to
Steve Sisolak made the announcement earlier this week.
Local officials would assume control of their reopening May 1, as part of the original reopening plan, and this remains the case. While individual counties will be able to set their own capacity caps, the state’s mask mandate would remain in effect. Currently,
The New York Times lists Nevada under the group of states “where new cases are lower but going up.” There have been 439 average new cases daily in the last week, which represents 14 new cases per 100,000 residents. As per vaccinations, 35 percent of the population in Nevada has received at least one dose, while 22.5 percent are fully vaccinated, according to The Times. The former is on the lower end of the spectrum of all states, while the latter tracks closer to just-below-average.

Government of Barbados has updated its travel protocols required for entry to the country as it continues to manage the ongoing
COVID-19 pandemic and protect its citizens and visitors alike. As a result, due to the global on-going vaccination process, there have been a few changes to the quarantine and COVID-19 testing processes.
Fully Vaccinated Travelers
AstraZeneca,
Pfizer-BioNTech and
Johnson & Johnson vaccinations for entry into Barbados and effective May 8, 2021. Travelers who are considered to be fully vaccinated are required to:
Provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test result three days prior to travel
Provide a vaccination certificate on arrival to Barbados

As we ve had to postpone our travels because of the pandemic, I believe a weekly dose of travel dreaming can be good medicine. Here s a reminder of the fun that awaits us in Europe at the other end of this crisis.
They say that for every church in Rome, there s a bank in Milan. Indeed, the economic success of postwar Italy can be attributed, at least in part, to this second city of bankers, publicists, and pasta power-lunchers. While overshadowed by Venice, Florence, and Rome in the minds of travelers, Milan still has plenty to offer anyone who visits.

The
San Blas in
Riviera Nayarit, Mexico, will be open for tourists starting summer of 2021. The archipelago, made of four islands, was mostly uninhabited except for
Maria Madre Island, which until 2019 housed a prison. Since its closure, the facility has undergone extensive renovations to become an education center that promotes biodiversity conservation. The Mexican government is currently working to update regulations that will allow for sustainable touristic activities on the islands, which will both respect the native ecosystem and empower the local community.
The islands were declared a
Natural Protected Area in 2000,
World Heritage Site by
UNESCO in 2005 and

The
Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has shared its short-, medium- and long-term strategies to prepare for the return of tourists, attract high-yield visitors and drive the sustainable growth of the tourism industry.
HKTB executive director
Dane Cheng in a press statement said, “We consider it unlikely
Hong Kong will see a full resumption of cross-border travel in the next three to six months; however, we do expect it to be possible for Hong Kong to welcome tourists from selected markets.”
He added that, in formulating the strategies for 2021 and 2022, the HKTB “saw a need to offer support to the trade and boost the ambience in Hong Kong, while ensuring the city has continued exposure on the international stage ahead of the resumption of international travel.” Cheng also noted the need for “large-scale promotions,” as he expected competition for tourists to be intense once the pandemic is over.
