Salvation Army teams up with Josef s School of Hair to offer free haircuts

(KVRR) Some lucky people get the chance to upgrade their hairstyle with a free haircut. After last year’s successful free adult haircut event, the Salvation Army and students at the Josef’s School of Hair Design came out to lift people’s spirits with fresh cuts. “Folks are still really struggling with all the dynamics of post covid life, but just the whole idea of when you get a free haircut it just makes you feel better,” Salvation Army Corps Officer Maj. Jerry O’Neil said.

You can help Salvation Army assist its Oklahoma clients with utility costs

Dana Murphy Guest columnist July is Home Energy Aid Month in Oklahoma, and perhaps never has the need to help the less fortunate with utility costs been so great. The current heat of summer, the record-setting cold of last winter and the economic impact of the pandemic mean many Oklahomans are struggling to keep essential utility services.  It has been my honor to serve on The Salvation Army Central Oklahoma s advisory board for almost 11 years, and I have seen first-hand the difference its utility assistance program can make. But in most communities, The Salvation Army is able to help only a handful of households per month because there just isn’t enough funding.

Salvation Army Corps Officer Captain Kathryn Mayes and Assistant Corps Officer Samantha Lockard were present to receive the proclamation.
