CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas â More tech jobs could be coming to the Coastal Bend.
As we told you yesterday, Mayor Paulette Guajardo has been in talks with Gov. Greg Abbott about bringing more of these jobs to the area.
And it s not just energy or large manufacturing jobs the Coastal Bend is looking for.
Recruiters from the Corpus Christi Regional Economic Development Corporation are actually visiting California pitching the Coastal Bend to potential businesses.

ROBSTOWN, Texas â UPDATE: (1 p.m.): Amazon s Last Mile Facility has been announced to be developed in Nueces County.
Nueces County Judge Barbara Canales announced the facility in a press conference Friday.
UPDATE (12:42 p.m.): Amazon officially announced Friday it will be basing a distribution facility in Robstown. We re appreciative of the people of Texas for so warmly embracing Amazon into the community, said Amazon economic development manager Jessica Breaux said. There are now over 70,000 Texans working at Amazon, and we are excited to be creating 100 additional jobs in Nueces County.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas â If your business has been impacted by the pandemic, local leaders want to hear from you.
The Coastal Bend Business Resources Working Group, part of the Corpus Christi Regional Economic Development Corporation, is launching its fifth and final COVID-19 impact survey starting today.
It will run through Friday, April 9. All local businesses are invited to participate and send in their information.
The survey questions are coordinated by Dr. Jim Lee, Regents Professor of Economics at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Based on previous surveys, thousands of responses have been tallied and analyzed for local, state and national leaders to measure the impact of the pandemic-related interruptions on the Coastal Bend economy.
