Registration Opens Thursday For 2021 Carroll County Conservation Summer Camps

Carroll County Conservation is bringing back summer camps this year, but space will be limited as organizers work to mitigate the possibility of COVID-19 spread. While the number of campers per group will be smaller, Naturalist, Matt Wetrich, says they plan to offer many of the same opportunities. Campers are splitting into groups by ages and grade level. Kids ages three and four take part in Caterpillar Camp, a two-hour adventure on outdoor basics. Kindergarteners are part of Cricket Camp, a three-day daycamp with games, activities, crafts and snacks. The Nature Explorers are first through third graders that dive deeper into ecological concepts and how they interact. The first overnight camp is offered to fourth and fifth graders. Participants will stay at Swan Lake State Park with canoeing, night hikes and much more. The final camp is Carroll County Naturally, which is a two-night stay at Dickson Timber. Wetrich says the cost varies quite a bit from camp to camp with all fees used
