JAMMU : Director School Education Jammu Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma, today, chaired a review meeting which was attended by all the Joint Directors of Jammu Division( DSEJ), Personnel Officer, Deputy Director planning, Chief Accounts Officer, all the 10 Chief Education Officers of Jammu Division and other officials of the Directorate of School Education Jammu to discuss various pressing issues related to online classes, ICT Laboratories in schools, scholarship for students, basic amenities such as drinking water and toilets for students in schools, ATD of teachers 2021, SRO-43 cases, vacancy and seniority position of various cadres and other such related issues.
The Director School Education Jammu, held a threadbare discussion about the status of complaints pending with crime branch/ ACB and the status of online as well as offline grievances reported.

Jammu: Counselling cell, Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) assessing the needs and requirements of students amid closure of institutions and resulting career uncertainties, organized a mega virtual orientation session on the official career portal of the Directorate–MANZILEIN.
The event was organised under the patronage of Director School Education Jammu, Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma while Danish Aziz, Education specialist UNICEF J&K Chapter and Romesh Kumar, Head Counselling Cell were the key speakers of the session.
The virtual session received overwhelming and response from learners covering all the 10 districts of Jammu division. Over four thousand students and their parents joined the session on various social media platforms of the Directorate.

Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma was apprised about various activities and initiatives of the Directorate of School Education Jammu. He stressed on optimal utilization of the resources so as to improve the teaching-learning process and make it student centric.
In depth deliberations were held on the current scenario prevailing due to COVID-19 pandemic and appropriate directions were passed by the Director.
Various associations of Teachers, Masters and Lecturers called on the Director and discussed various issues faced by them. Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma, while giving a patient hearing, assured them that genuine service related and other issues of staff members and students will be taken up without any delay and a productive and positive response will be received from his office.
School level assessment for Ist to 7th; normal exam for 8th & 9th with 65 pc syllabus

JAMMU, Mar 2: Ending confusion over mode of conducting Term-2 examinations for the current session, Directorate of School Education Jammu today notified that instead of conventional exams, child friendly assessment shall be conducted at school level for classes Ist to 7th whereas for class 8th to 9th , it will be normal examination with 65 percent syllabus.
In case of class Ist to 7th, assessment shall be conducted at school level for current academic session from 3rd week of March, 2021 ensuring that the assessment is child friendly and the uniform models of assessment tools are used by all schools while retaining the flexibility of mode of conduct as well as actual questionnaire to be used.
