JAMMU: To strengthen the resolve of an international society free of drug abuse and to raise awareness about the problems that occur due to illicit drugs, Counselling Cell Directorate of School Education Jammu organised a Panel Discussion on ‘ Prevention of Drug Abuse among School Children’ under the supervision of Director School Education Jammu, Ravi Shankar Sharma.
Swati Sharma, Dy.S.P. Headquarters, Jammu, Dr. Rajesh Chandel (Psychiatrist) Assistant Professor GMC Kathua, Palvi Singh, Project Director, JK Society for Promotion of Youth and Masses and Danish Aziz, Education Specialist were among the Panellists.
In the discussions, the speakers unequivocally stressed upon the need for improving the understanding of drug problem, especially among the school children, so that they can prevent themselves from its menace.

Jammu: Counselling cell, Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) assessing the needs and requirements of students amid closure of institutions and resulting career uncertainties, organized a mega virtual orientation session on the official career portal of the Directorate–MANZILEIN.
The event was organised under the patronage of Director School Education Jammu, Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma while Danish Aziz, Education specialist UNICEF J&K Chapter and Romesh Kumar, Head Counselling Cell were the key speakers of the session.
The virtual session received overwhelming and response from learners covering all the 10 districts of Jammu division. Over four thousand students and their parents joined the session on various social media platforms of the Directorate.
Jammu: The counseling cell, Directorate of School Education, Jammu, today conducted third virtual consultation on COVID19 Infection, Prevention and Control (IPC) in its bi-weekly series of webinars.
Director School Education Jammu, Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma, was the chief guest while Associate Professor, Microbiology (MD, MAMS, FAIMER fellow at GMC Jammu), Dr. Sandeep Dogra, was the key resource person in the event.
Dr. Sharma highlighted the importance of such consultations when the department has already lost many of its dedicated teachers and officials. He assured his full support to counseling cell for all such events in which teachers, parents and learners are directly benefitted. He appreciated the expert views of Dr. Sandeep besides complimenting Danish Aziz, Education Specialist (J&K), UNICEF India, for providing technical support. He called upon the participants to attend the session for correct information to remain stress free, calm and confident during the pandemic.
