Dr Pramod N (third from left) treats a patient at Singhu border in Delhi BALLARI: A doctor from Ballari offered his medical expertise to farmers in the national capital, many of whom are senior citizens battling the winter in North India. Dr Pramod N, an alumnus of Vijayanagara Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS), said he flew to Delhi on January 28, a day after he received a call from the Medical Service Centre seeking his services at the site of the farmers’ protest. “Reaching Singhu border was difficult with police prohibiting entry to outsiders in the wake of the Republic Day violence. Security had been beefed up all along the way. I rode the Metro to Jahangirpur and shared autorickshaw rides, but we were dropped considerably far from Singhu border. I walked for 3km, with my doctor’s card helping me to negotiate with cops,” he said.

HUBBALLI: Soon, vending zones will become a reality in the twin cities. The HDMC has initiated measures to identify places for vending zones, and ordered officials to submit within a week. It has also decided to once again review the existing 25 vending zones, which were notified in 2012, but have not been used since then. Suresh Itnal, commissioner, HDMC, said the zonal assistant commissioners have been asked to submit a detailed report on where vending zones can be notified,with total area and other details. Once they submit the report, the Town Vending Committee members, police and officials of the HDMC, will conduct a survey by visiting the place, and assess its feasibility.

He said patients wishing to use the facility will have to register their names within the stipulated time. The new system was introduced during byelections in Sira and RR Nagar assembly constituencies last year. Byelections are due in Maski and Basavakalyan assembly seats and Belagavi Lok Sabha seat.

Hubballi: Just 2 documents needed to get trade licences | Hubballi News

HUBBALLI: Post lockdown, with more people beginning their own businesses, authorities are making it easier for such people to obtain trade licences online. Now, people need to furnish just two documents to get a trade licence. They need to submit the ID proof of the owner of the business and lease documents or consent letter from the owner of the property. Earlier, people used to struggle to get a trade licence as they werefinding it difficult to collect all the required documents. The new rules were introduced as perthe recommendations of the Ease of Doing Business to State Business Reform Action Plan under the department for promotion of industry and internal trade. HDMC commissioner Suresh Itnal said the new rules are already being implemented in HDMC.
