Vanderburgh County vaults past 57,000 residents vaccinated against COVID-19 EVANSVILLE, Ind.  Vanderburgh County reported Friday that another 625 residents are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19, vaulting the county s total just past 57,000 people. Vanderburgh also reported adding another 16 COVID-19 cases, but its seven-day positivity rate for individuals did go down after several days of increases. The positivity rate clocked in at 14.2% Thursday, but on Friday it was down to 12.6%. Statewide, the positivity rate for individuals has been on a downward trajectory this week. Indiana s number was 13.9% on Monday, 13.6% Wednesday, 13.4% on Thursday and, on Friday, 13.2%. Coronavirus case and death reporting in the area was light on Friday. Between them, Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey and Gibson counties reported just 27 new cases and no new deaths.

EVANSVILLE, Ind.  Vanderburgh County reported Thursday that 802 more residents are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19, bringing the county s total to 56,423. But as is often the case, the county s daily coronavirus reporting brought some encouraging numbers and some that aren t as promising. After taking a brief one-day turn downward, Vanderburgh County s seven-day COVID-19 positivity rate for individuals shot up again Thursday. The positivity rate had steadily climbed since Friday to 13.8% on Tuesday before dropping to 13.5% Wednesday. But on Thursday, it clocked in at 14.2%. The increases haven t as yet spelled significantly more new COVID-19 cases. Vanderburgh County added 10 new cases Thursday and no new deaths attributable to the coronavirus. Between them, Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey and Gibson counties reported just 21 new cases and no new deaths.

Butler University To Begin Offering COVID-19 Vaccine To Students On Campus

INDIANAPOLIS On Wednesday, Butler University students can start getting COVID-19 vaccines on campus. It’s part of an effort to get people on campus vaccinated before the end of the semester. This clinic is happening on Wednesday through Friday at Hinkle Fieldhouse from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The second round of shots will be given on May 4 to May 6 at the Health and Recreation Complex. All students are welcome, including people who are from out of state and abroad, however, students must have already registered for appointments online. The university is partnering with the Indiana State Health Department to offer free Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines.
