EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Vanderburgh County reported Thursday that 802 more residents are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19, bringing the county's total to 56,423.
But as is often the case, the county's daily coronavirus reporting brought some encouraging numbers and some that aren't as promising.
After taking a brief one-day turn downward, Vanderburgh County's seven-day COVID-19 positivity rate for individuals shot up again Thursday.
The positivity rate had steadily climbed since Friday to 13.8% on Tuesday before dropping to 13.5% Wednesday. But on Thursday, it clocked in at 14.2%.
The increases haven't as yet spelled significantly more new COVID-19 cases. Vanderburgh County added 10 new cases Thursday and no new deaths attributable to the coronavirus. Between them, Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey and Gibson counties reported just 21 new cases and no new deaths.
