Vanderburgh County vaults past 57,000 residents vaccinated against COVID-19
EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Vanderburgh County reported Friday that another 625 residents are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19, vaulting the county's total just past 57,000 people.
Vanderburgh also reported adding another 16 COVID-19 cases, but its seven-day positivity rate for individuals did go down after several days of increases. The positivity rate clocked in at 14.2% Thursday, but on Friday it was down to 12.6%.
Statewide, the positivity rate for individuals has been on a downward trajectory this week. Indiana's number was 13.9% on Monday, 13.6% Wednesday, 13.4% on Thursday and, on Friday, 13.2%.
Coronavirus case and death reporting in the area was light on Friday. Between them, Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey and Gibson counties reported just 27 new cases and no new deaths.
