New Delhi: The Indian Meteorological department (IMD) on Friday (July 30) issued red and orange alerts as intense rainfall is expected over eastern, western, and central India till August 1.
Heavy rains lashed several parts of Delhi-NCR on Thursday bringing the mercury down. However, two people lost their lives in rain-related incidents.
The water level of the Yamuna river in Delhi rose to 203.74 metres on Thursday, close to the warning mark of 204.50 metres after heavy rains in the upper catchment areas of the river.
Authorities have been issued instructions to repair the damaged stretch of road in the next three-four days.
SHIMLA: In a major landslide, 100-meter stretch of road connecting Paonta Sahib with Shillai-Hatkoti (national highway 707) collapsed at Kali Dhank (Barwas) in Sirmaur district on Friday.
No loss of life has been reported in this incident while traffic has been blocked on this road.

According to officials, traffic from Sataun towards, Kamrau, Shillai and Hatkoti has been diverted from Paonta Sahib through Kafota via Jakhna Jong- Killor.

Ranchi: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday issued a red alert for heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in the next 48 hours over more than half of Jharkhand.
This is because of development of a well-marked low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal which is likely to move westwards across to West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand causing extremely heavy rainfall.
Acting director Ranchi IMD, Abhishek Anand, said the low-pressure area over the north Bay of Bengal and its neighbourhood has turned into a well-marked low-pressure area over south Bangladesh and its adjoining north Bay of Bengal and West Bengal early on Wednesday morning.
