INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) The Indianapolis Symphonic Choir is releasing a digital concert featuring 11 pre-recorded songs that will be available on-demand starting June 3.
On Tuesday, artistic director Eric Stark will be joined by social musicologist Joshua Thompson for a pre-concert event called “In-Choir-ing Minds.” The goal of the event is to provide additional information about the artists and songs featured in the digital concert.
Stark spoke to News 8’s Brenna Donnelly about “In-Choir-ing Minds” and the concert as well as the importance of highlighting composers of color.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Many events have gone virtual because of the pandemic and the 2021 Indianapolis Symphonic Choir’s annual gala is no expection.
Tuesday is the choir’s first ever virtual “Gala Bel Canto: We’ll Meet Again.”
Liam Bonner, executive director of the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir was on Daybreak Saturday.
The event, which will be livestreamed from 7-8 p.m., will feature a silent auction with mobile bidding and two performances from choir.
Proceeds from the gala will go to benefit music education and community engagement programs.

WHAT: A Midwest holiday tradition and season highlight for the city of Indianapolis, the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir’s annual Festival of Carols will celebrate 30 years with a special broadcast of the performance on MyINDY-TV 23. Following sell-out runs across multiple live performances over the last five years, the 2020 broadcast performance comes in lieu of a live audience due to ongoing COVID-19 precautions.
