Safer Internet Day marked with launch of digital safety initiatives
A local organisation and Facebook on Tuesday announced a series of local initiatives and efforts to promote a safer Internet for all users.
The initiative, which is also being launched across the MENA region, was initiated in partnership with Jordan Open Source Association (JOSA) to mark Safer Internet Day 2021.
Facebook has also produced a digital safety guide and a digital safety toolkit that can be utilised by users to better control unwanted, offensive or hurtful experiences on Facebook, according to a JOSA statement that was made available to The Jordan Times.

ipNX Nigeria, has called for collaboration among all stakeholders towards attaining a safer and better internet in Nigeria and across the world.
The group in a statement disclosed this as part of activities to mark the 2021 Safer Internet Day which is celebrated every second Tuesday in February to raise awareness on emerging online issues and concerns.
The statement said the Day aims to create a safer and better internet, where everyone is empowered to use technology responsibly, respectfully, critically, and creatively.
The statement hinted that the theme for the 18th edition is: “Together for a better internet.”
