With the scheduling quirks in this unprecedented 2020 college sports season, Nebraska s 28-21 win Friday night over Rutgers in Piscataway N.J. marks only the second time in school history N-U has won twice in the month of December.
Nebraska won two December games in the 1976 season: at Hawaii, 68-3, on December 4th and against Texas Tech, 27-24, in the old Astro-Bluebonnet Bowl in Houston s Astrodome on New Year s Eve of that American Bicentennial year;
Friday night was Nebraska s fifth road game in eight games this season. Nebraska Athletic Communications says the last time the Cornhuskers played more road games than home games in a season was 1946 (5 road games, 4 home games).
