Jun 22, 2021 A Mansfield man is in the Richland County jail on a $1 million dollar bond on a charge of murder and felonious assault. RichlandSource.com reports, 21 year old Austin Wheatcraft is scheduled to appear in court Thursday at 1 pm for a pre-trial. Wheatcraft is accused of shooting a man at an Ashland Road home on June 17th. According to Wheatcraft,he found a 19 year old male at his girl friend s residence, who then started to assault him. Wheatcraft said he shot the male in self-defense and panicked. The man died at the next day after being taken to the hospital.

MANSFIELD – City residents can now brighten their own properties with the same high-grade daffodils that have been planted by volunteers across Mansfield for the past three years.
The number of daffodils added to largely public places in the city in this three-year period is 35,000. The effort has been supported by volunteer groups like Mansfield in Bloom.
But now, the goal is to spread the annual Dazzel with Daffodils program from current annual displays along parks, churches and some small businesses to front yards and home gardens.
