William Penn University Nursing Students Assist with Vaccination Clinic
William Penn University hosted a Campus Vaccination Clinic on Tuesday, April 13. WPU Nursing students assisted Mahaska County Public Health in administering the first dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to over ninety WPU students and employees. William Penn University’s COVID Task Force is grateful for the continuous support of their community health partners, including Mahaska County Public Health and Mahaska Health Partnership.
Four WPU Nursing students participated in the clinic; Lauren Russell, Adrian Aviles, Ashley Porter, and Kathryn Brockmeier. The new year is often a time for resolutions, many of which include eating healthier, getting more active and physically fit, and improving mental wellbeing. So, when the Viva Fresh Expo announced its second annual Clean Eating Challenge back in October, it was the perfect catapult to a healthier year for eager participants.

“I was sick and tired of being sick and tired,” said Blake LaGrange of Val Verde Vegetable Co., when asked why he decided to participate in the 2021 Clean Eating Challenge. “The challenge sparked my competitive nature and held me accountable to push forward during the times that I didn’t want to, so I guess you can say it fixed my ‘want to.’”

After a record 17 clues, the hunt for the G. Thomas Jewelers- Godfrey’s Range and Tactical Supply Jingle Bell Rock, officially came to an end Wednesday morning.
Joel Moldrup and Ashley Porter were among a group of six individuals who located the rock and will share in the prizes as a result. Moldrup explains where the clues led them.
“So technically it was my sister-in-law Brianne Porter that found it, but it was on Linear Trail off Anderson Ave. in between two timbers, underneath some leaves.
