Pune: 783 people recovered from Covid yesterday in the district. Since the pandemic started, 3,41,298 have battled Covid and 3.68 lakh have contracted it. The death toll is at 7,743 in Pune district with 13,267 active cases under treatment in hospitals or in-home isolation.
Dr Bhagwan Pawar, Pune district health officer said that among the 600 fresh cases, 307 are in PMC limits, 139 in Pimpri-Chinchwad, 115 in rural areas and 39 in cantonment areas. There are 4,875 active cases in Pune of which 385 are serious with 225 on ventilators and 160 without.

A one-day-old baby was amongst the 10 people who succumbed to COVID in
Pune district on Monday.
The newborn from
Aurangabad was reportedly brought dead to the Sassoon General Hospitals on December 20. He has tested positive for COVID, confirmed the officials.
Within the last 24 hours, the district also saw 361new cases, taking the tally to 3,56,819. Also, 589 people recovered; 3,39,610 have battled the virus so far.
Among the new positive cases, 163 are in
Pune Municipal Corporation (
PMC) limits, 103 in Pimpri-Chinchwad, 79 in rural areas and 16 cantonment areas.

With as many as 671 recoveries amongst
COVID patients reported in last 24 hours on Saturday, the number of recovered patients in Pune district has surged to 3,38,457. This has brought down the number of active COVID cases in the district.
The Pune district now has 8,857 active cases, of which 2,411 are hospitalised and 6,446 are in home isolation, said
district health officials.
Also, a smaller number of 12 deaths amongst COVID patients were reported on Saturday, the death toll now stands at 8,695 in the district, they said.

On Friday, Pune district added 550 fresh cases of novel coronavirus disease (
COVID-19), taking the case tally to 3,55,174.
However, some 602 patients were discharged from
various hospitals across the district after full recovery. With this, the total number of patients cured of COVID-19 in Pune district has reached 3,37,786.
With as many as 16 patients succumbing to the virus on the same day, the
death toll has touched 8,683 in the district.

Pune: Covid vaccine can be stored in 90 storage units in the Pune Municipal Corporation area and 32 in Pimpri-Chinchwad. Health department officials are expecting the addition of more storage areas and equipment soon.
Ashish Bharti, head of the civic body’s health department said that PMC’s storage network included 55 ice-lined fridges and 35 deep freezers. This capacity will be enough to store 4-5 lakh doses.
