Agar.io
Agar.io is usually the game most people think of when looking for browser-based games. In this MMO action game, players take control of a circular cell as it hunts to consume smaller static cells. Other players control rival cells which you must compete with for food – and if their cell is larger than yours is, then you run the risk of becoming their food if they catch you. This is where things get interesting: the larger your cell, the slower you move.
So what do you do when you’re too slow to consume cells, but too small to absorb everything in sight? Cells can split in half at will, giving players two individual cells to control. Each cell can split up to four times, allowing players to escape certain death when dealing with a giant enemy. Agar.io’s highly addictive gameplay, in addition to its five unique multiplayer modes, make it one of the best io games.
From The Creator Of Threes Comes Beast Breaker, A Ball-Bouncing Game About A Tiny Mouse
It breaks our little hearts that the fantastic number-sliding game
Threes never made it to Switch, but. we get it. Just in case, though, if any of the people who worked on it are reading this: we would definitely play it. Just in case.
But good news: the creator of Threes, Asher Vollmer, just announced a one-two-punch of new studio and new game, and the game is coming to Nintendo Switch! Woo!
The new studio is called Vodeo Games (excellent), and the game is
Beast Breaker, a ball-bouncing game in the vein of Holedown, but with a twist: instead of breaking blocks, you re breaking beasts - hence the title, duh.
Beast Breaker.
InÂ
Beast Breaker, players will assume the role of a mouse named Skipper who serves as the “ball” in the brick smashing gameplay. As Skipper, you’ll have to take turns lining up shots and attacking giant beasts in an effort to save the world.
On top of that, Vodeo promises “a vibrant cast of characters who will help you craft equipment” and “master unique new fighting styles.”
Beast Breaker is set to release sometime this summer on Nintendo Switch and PC (via the Epic Games Store).
