Year 12 students of St Joseph’s College, a high-fee independent Marist school in Sydney’s Hunter Hill, have received priority access to the COVID-19 vaccine. In June, 163 students who board at the school were given the Pfizer vaccine.
Many of the school s alumni are highly placed. Of the 45 Liberal members of NSW Parliament, three are St Joseph’s alumni. Member for Camden Peter Sidgreaves graduated from the school in 1993, followed by Member for Albury Justin Clancy who graduated in 1995, while Member for Riverstone Kevin Conolly graduated in 1975.
Former Hunters Hill mayor and former Liberal Party member Richard Quinn is currently director of advancement at the school. Quinn quit the Liberal Party in 2019 to unsuccessfully run as an independent for the seat of Lane Cove. Quinn told
Federation and Moira councils were joined by NSW Government Regional Roads and Transport Minister, The Hon Paul Toole MLA and Member for Albury Justin.

Hume and Hovell Track upgrade progresses
The Hume and Hovell Walking Track is getting a facelift as work on the pedestrian bridge replacement program steams ahead.
The program started in November 2019 and, despite the impact of bushfires and the pandemic, 37 bridges and boardwalks have been replaced along the Track with the majority being built after COVID restrictions eased in mid-2020.
The Department of Planning, Industry and Environment – Crown Lands partners with Snowy Valleys Council to deliver maintenance and upgrades on the 426km track that passes through Yass, Wee Jasper, Albury, Tumut, Talbingo and Tumbarumba.
Local indigenous contractor Maliyan Horizon and inmates from Mannus Correctional Centre have also helped with track and weed clearing.

Council officially open new Corowa Memorial Plaza
A revamped and activated Memorial Plaza in Corowa was opened to the public on Friday evening, with features of the new space amazing attendees.
The Memorial Plaza upgrade project, led by the Federation Youth Council included installation of public Wi-Fi, café style and bench seating, signage, an electronic community notice board, wooden panel roofing, flood and festoon lighting, a drinking fountain and a new interactive mural by artist, Kade Sarte, inspired by the Murray River.
Following the official opening there was a community youth led free event with live music from acoustic performer Molly Williams, tapas from Barrel and Brew and outdoor games.
