The 10 best men s collarless shirts
Powered by the success of Peaky Blinders, the collarless shirt is quickly gaining momentum

The grandad-collared shirt is gaining momentum, powered by the popularity of Peaky Blinders and the fact that, with fewer of us working at the office, the collar and tie have never felt more redundant.
The look is divisive, though. Does eliminating the defining feature of a shirt (its collar) render it useless, like removing the handle from a teapot? I don’t think so. You just need to know how to wear them – for example, to take the stuffiness out of a formal suit.

As non-sequiturs go, the term ‘pub garden chic’ might once have ranked highly. No longer. But now that we’re at the mercy of outdoor hospitality, the outlook for what we wear and therefore how we regain our social composure will surely be dependent on the clemency of the weather.
On a positive note, temperatures appear to be rising and, quite possibly, a late spring similar to last year’s could be on its way. But what materialises sartorially will more likely depend on whether you walk, ride or drive to your al fresco assignations. One thing, however, is certain: you’d be ill-advised to leave the house without first donning a decent pair of shades.
Eye-catching jewellery and medals emphasised by the traditional mourning black

This was the first British royal funeral for the internet age. The level of grooming and the height of many of the women’s heels was notable – there was not a single inappropriate outfit, and one was aware that many of those present would have dressed for the closest scrutiny of the cameras.
If anyone understands the significance of mourning dress, it’s the royal family. And wearing black - a colour traditionally worn ever since Queen Victoria wore it following her husband Albert’s death in 1861 - means that deeply significant jewellery can be seen with piercing clarity.

I was reading Tobin Rote s biography. Although he played mostly on some poor Packers teams, his statistics, rushing and passing during the 1950s, is unmatched. He also relieved an injured Bobby Layne and won Detroit s last championship. He did pretty well in the Canadian Football League and also won an AFL championship with the San Diego Chargers. So I was wondering why he is not in the Pro Football Hall of Fame? Did Tobin ever get any mention or votes?
Fascinating question. I can tell you this: Rote, who played for the Packers from 1950-56, was never a finalist. My list goes back to 1970, when I believe the voting process changed, and Rote last played for Denver in 1966, so he wouldn t have been eligible prior to that.
